DjaNHLo Unchained

It was pointed out to me the other day by a friend in the hobby that I have been M.I.A.  While that may be true, it doesn't mean I haven't been paying attention.  Well, actually it does mean that I haven't been paying attention.  When the Steelers destroyed their season about a month ago, I had nothing left to motivate me since it seemed the NHL was permanently on ice.

Not anymore!!  Don Fehr and his gang of miscreants came to a tentative agreement in the wee hours this morning to end the owners lock out of the players.  The Evil One stood side by side with Mr. Fehr, weary with sand in the corners of his eyes, and announced the end to the second NHL labor stoppage in the last 10 years.  No other professional sport has seen this much vacation time ever.  EVER!

But I'm not going to be a hater (of course I am but I will pretend).  I have had quite a few speed bumps in my life over the last four months that would make a mortal man crumble.  With the NFL season grinding to a close, an unwatchable NBA, MLB still four months away (not that I watch anyway), and college sports I have no interest in whatsoever, it will be nice to get some semblance of a sports distraction back in the form of NHL hockey. 

I can't say that I am back by any means but the well wishes of others and the concerns of some of you out there have definitely not fallen on deaf ears.  Now that hockey is back, it may be just the motivation I need to get back in the game.
