I Question Their Intentions

2000-01 Upper Deck E-Card Brett Hull

The Internet is a neat thing, especially now that it is on computers.  That's why when Upper Deck decided to introduce the world to E-Cards, it seemed as though collecting would suddenly advance into the 25th Century.  No more riding your bike to the local dealer to buy packs of the latest trading card.  We're all using our hover boards and moon boots, or riding the monorail to get there.  This is the future!!

So the instructions on the card tell me to go to upperdeckdigital.com so that I can "digitize" my card.  Why?  Because the only thing better than cardboard Brett Hull is digital Brett Hull.  I went there like they are telling me to.  You know what I found??

This!

Is my card digitized now?  Has Brett joined the ranks of the 1's and 0's?  I sure hope so.  But where is it?  I didn't get an email or an instant message.  Maybe I should click the "Sports News" button.  Or maybe I should check my hover board.  These directions are way too difficult for me to understand.  Technology is scary.  I really question Upper Decks intentions.

I Question Their Intentions

1995-96 Stadium Club Fearless Ulf Samuelsson

Ok. I get it.  The guys in this set are supposed to be the big, bad brawler guys.  The ones that give their bodies to the game of hockey night in, and night out.  But "Fearless"??  I would say that Ulf is pretty afraid right now.  I mean, Mike Gartner is choking on a mouth full of Big League Chew and no one else is going to help him.  His teammates have all skated away, the trainers have all turned a blind eye, even the fans have shunned him.  But Ulf has sprung to the rescue to administer the Heimlich Maneuver and prevent his colleague Mike from dying on the ice.  I would say he is pretty scared, wouldn't you?  I know if it was me, I'd be fearful that Mr. Gartner would die or at the very least, I would crack a rib or two in the process and risk an expensive lawsuit.  I really question Topps intentions on this one.

I Question Their Intentions

1996-97 Leaf Limited ED Bash The Boards Ed Jovanovski #/3500

If we are going to make a card set that has funny quips and phrases or cleverly uses alliteration, could Leaf come up with something better than Bash the Boards?  I highly doubt Ed is bashing anything at the moment other than maybe his stick against some poor defenseman off camera right.  At least if you are going to say something ridiculous like Bash the Boards, the picture should show him...bashing the boards!  I question their intentions with this one.
